Team USA defenceman Jake Sanderson is day-to-day after suffering an undisclosed injury during last night's game against Canada, according to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman.

The 19-year-old was able to finish the game registering an assist and a shot on goal in 16:59.

The Ottawa Senators prospect arrived in Beijing at 12:30 a.m. on the day before the game after he was placed in COVID-19 protocol. He had to pass five consecutive COVID tests while waiting in Los Angeles for the green light to travel to the Winter Games.

Sanderson was selected by Ottawa fifth overall in the 2020 NHL Draft.
