Jets’ Pierre-Luc Dubois leaves game vs. Flames with lower-body injury

Watch as Winnipeg Jets' Pierre-Luc Dubois exits the game with a lower-body injury after a shift in the first period of a preseason game against the Calgary Flames, he would not return to play.

Winnipeg Jets centre Pierre-Luc Dubois left Friday’s pre-season game against the Calgary Flames with a lower-body injury, the team announced during the first intermission.

No other information about the injury was immediately known. Dubois scored two goals in the first period — in just 5:09 of ice time — before leaving the game.

After the game head coach Rick Bowness said the team is not concerned about Dubois’ status and that he was removed from the game as a precaution.

Dubois, 24, is looking to build off a career year last year in which he scored a career-high 28 goals and nearly set a new career-high in points with 60.

Friday’s contest was the final pre-season game for the Jets this year. The club will begin the regular season next Friday at home against the New York Rangers.
