Sportsnet and Jays Care Foundation Team Up For Annual Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction Presented by TD, May 15

Jays Care Foundation looking to raise $143,000 to empower youth in need –

-Charity broadcast auction features Toronto hosting reigning World Series champs San Francisco Giants-

TORONTO (May 13, 2013) Sportsnet and Jays Care Foundation are teaming up to support kids in need with the annual Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction presented by TD, on Wednesday, May 15at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific. The Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction kicks off a Blue Jays two-game home stand versus the defending World Series champions San Francisco Giants.

 

Connected anchor Evanka Osmak returns as host of the auction, broadcasting live from Rogers Centre. Bidding opens during Blue Jays Central at 6:30 p.m. ET/3:30 p.m. PT and closes 10 minutes following the end of seventh inning. This marks the sixth year that Sportsnet has devoted an entire game broadcast to Jays Care Foundation’s Charity Broadcast Auction.

 

Following last year’s successful auction that raised $108,000 in support of Jays Care programs, this year’s fundraising goal is set at $143,000. To-date, the Sportsnet Charity Broadcast Auction has raised $297,000 in support of setting kids on a lifelong track to success by investing in programs that inspire children to get active, stay in school and be part of a team.

 

During the auction, fans across Canada will have the opportunity to bid on exclusive Blue Jays experiences and one-of-a-kind memorabilia, including:

  • Practice with a Pro: Winner and a guest will enjoy a private, 30-minute hitting lesson with Blue Jays outfielder, Colby Rasmus
  • San Francisco Trip: Trip for two to San Francisco to watch the Blue Jays take on the Giants. Airfare and accommodation included
  • Clubhouse Dinner: 10 guests will enjoy a private dinner in the Blue Jays home clubhouse
  • Broadcast Experience: Meet and greet for two with broadcasters Buck Martinez and Pat Tabler in Sportsnet broadcast booth, tour of Sportsnet’s broadcast facilities, and the opportunity for Sportsnet 590 The FAN’s Jerry Howarth to record a personalized voicemail message. Game day tickets also included.

 

In addition to the auction packages, fans will have the opportunity to purchase a special Fan Pack with a $100 donation to the Jays Care Foundation. 750 Fan Packs will be available exclusively online at the start of the game broadcast which include a baseball signed by a 2013 Toronto Blue Jays player/manager/coach/alumni, Jose Bautista bobblehead, Blue Jays mini bat, Blue Jays key chain, Jays Care reusable bag and Jays Care pen.
