Canadian teen Shapovalov wins boys’ title at Wimbledon

Denis Shapovalov’s success at Wimbledon is a great story not just for Canada but for tennis itself, with the youngster’s game and demeanor something to keep an eye on.

LONDON — Canadian teen Denis Shapovalov won the Wimbledon’s boys’ title on Sunday, defeating Australia’s Alex De Minaur in three sets.

The 17-year-old Shapovalov, from Richmond Hill, Ont., bounced back from a 6-4 loss in the first set to take the next two, 6-1, 6-3 respectively.

Shapovalov was the fifth seed at the tournament. De Minaur was seeded seventh.
