TORONTO (April 18, 2013) Sportsnet, Canada’s official home of the Ultimate Fighting Championship®, takes fans cageside in San Jose on Saturday, April 20 for more than five hours of live fight coverage from UFC on Sportsnet: Henderson vs. Melendez. Coverage of the preliminary fights kicks off at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT on Sportsnet ONE, followed by the four-fight main card at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT, also on Sportsnet ONE. Additionally, sportsnet.ca will deliver live streaming of two early preliminary fights at 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT.
Fans can expect fireworks heading into the stacked main card, which will see UFC lightweight champ Benson Henderson put his belt on the line against the last Strikeforce 155-pound title-holder Gilbert Melendez.
The main card also features three other “UFC vs. Strikeforce” matchups, including former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir taking on Strikeforce heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier, and lightweight Nate Diaz taking on Josh Thomson – who will both be looking for redemption following recent tough losses. Also on the main card, Lethbridge, AB’s Jordan Mein looks for a repeat victory when he takes on UFC veteran Matt Brown. Mein shot to UFC fame following his debut and memorable win at UFC 158 in Montreal last month.
