Longtime UFC president Dana White and several UFC fighters showed their support for Donald Trump after the attempt on the former U.S. President’s life on Saturday.
White is scheduled to speak at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee this week. It will be the third time White has done so.
“I am absolutely sick to my stomach and in complete shock,” White posted to social media Saturday night after receiving the news of the assassination attempt on the 78-year-old.
Colby Covington, Sean Strickland and Jorge Masvidal are three fighters who have been vocal supporters of Trump — despite how polarizing he has been in U.S. and world politics — for years and have met with him on various occasions.
“God loves this man! I’m happy that President Trump is ok,” wrote Masvidal, who has been a guest at Trump-related events in Florida in the past.
Strickland hopped the cage to take a memorable selfie with Trump following his victory over Paulo Costa at UFC 302 in June.
One attendee was killed in the shooting with two other attendees critically injured. The shooter was fatally shot by Secret Service agents.
