A pair of light-heavyweight contenders have been booked for a prominent rematch in the summer.
Former 205-pound titleholder Jan Blachowicz and the streaking Bogdan Guskov will meet in Belgrade, Serbia at an Aug. 1 UFC Fight Night event.
This will be a sequel to a majority draw at UFC 323 in December.
They were initially set to run it back at UFC 328 in May but two weeks before the event Blachowicz withdrew and announced he underwent successful knee surgery after sustaining an injury in training.
Uzbekistan’s Guskov, 33, is unbeaten in his past five with notable knockout wins over Nikita Krylov and Ryan Spann.
Poland’s Blachowicz is 43, winless in his past four fights and returning from a significant injury given the stage of his career.
“Last round of sparring, wrong position and a kick to the knee. Torn meniscus,” Blachowicz wrote on social media when he sustained the injury. “The plan and goal were clear, so the disappointment is huge. But this isn’t the end! I’m already working on getting back as soon as possible. Coming back to finish things on my own terms.”
In his past four, Blachowicz has a majority draw with Guskov and a split draw with former champion Magomed Ankalaev plus closely contested three-round decision losses to current titleholder Carlos Ulberg and former two-weight champ Alex Pereira.
The Aug. 1 card is headlined by a welterweight matchup between Serbia’s Uros Medic and American Daniel Rodriguez.
