Uros Medic is getting a homecoming in his 11th UFC appearance.
The welterweight from Novi Sad, Serbia is set to headline the UFC’s debut event in the country when the organization hosts a Fight Night event in Belgrade on Aug. 1.
Medic is scheduled to face 14-fight UFC veteran Daniel Rodriguez in a 170-pound, five-round main event at Belgrade Arena, the UFC announced.
UFC Serbia will mark the organization’s first event in Europe -- besides its annual events in England and France -- since a 2019 Fight Night card in Moscow, Russia.
This will be the first UFC main event spot for Medic and Rodriguez. Both fighters have won three in a row in the UFC’s welterweight division.
Medic, 33, is 13-3 as a professional and has never gone the distance with only three of his fights making it out of the first round. His knockout of Geoff Neil in February was one of the best UFC knockouts from the first half of 2026.
Medic has knocked out his past three opponents in a combined 3:25 and is currently the No. 13-ranked contender in the welterweight division.
Rodriguez is ranked No. 15 in the weight class and last fought at UFC 318 last July when he defeated Kevin Holland in an entertaining, back-and-forth bout.
The 39-year-old from California also holds wins over Santiago Ponzinibbio and Alex Morono.
Medic is expected to be one of a strong contingent of European fighters on the card.
Serbia’s Dusko Todorovic was also added to the card. Todorovic is set to face Switzerland’s Robert Valentin in a middleweight contest.
