Conor McGregor will be ineligible to compete in any UFC event until March 2026.
The UFC announced that McGregor accepted an 18-month period of ineligibility for a violation of the promotion's anti-doping policy.
McGregor missed three anti-doping tests, known as whereabouts failures, last year. His suspension is retroactive to Sept. 20, 2024, the date of his last whereabouts failure.
His eligibility will resume on March 20. He is set to participate in the UFC's White House card in the summer of 2026.
Combat Sports Anti-Doping, the UFC's anti-doping program, reduced McGregor's ban from 24 to 18 months, taking into consideration McGregor's cooperation with the investigation.
It's been over four years since McGregor last entered a UFC octagon following back-to-back losses against Dustin Poirier — the second of which ended abruptly after McGregor broke his leg in the cage.
"The Notorious" was set to make his return last year in a bout against Michael Chandler in his native Ireland, but had to withdraw due to a toe injury just weeks out from the main event matchup. McGregor holds a record of 22-6-0 as a pro, but has lost three of his last four UFC fights — all three defeats coming by early stoppage.
