Uros Medic made history in his home country on Saturday.
The rising Serbian welterweight star won his fourth straight bout, taking down veteran Daniel Rodriguez via technical knockout in the first-ever UFC card hosted in Serbia.
Coming into the Belgrade event as the No. 16-ranked 170-pound fighter, Medic made quick work of Rodriguez — ranked 18th on the ladder — winning the fight only 30 seconds into Round 1.
Medic found Rodriguez with a nasty punch combo, sending his opponent to the ground, then forcing the referee stoppage with some vicious ground and pound, sending the Serbian fans home happy.
The win was Medic's fourth straight first-round knockout, having previously taken down Geoff Neal, Muslim Salikhov and Gilbert Urbina in his previous three bouts.
After the fight, he called out former champ Leon Edwards as he continues his climb up the welterweight ladder.
The 33-year-old is now 14-3 in professional MMA and 8-3 in UFC. Rodriguez, meanwhile, dropped to 20-6 and saw his three-fight streak come to an end.
Elsewhere on the card, New Zealand rising star Navajo Stirling made quick work of former light heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz, winning by TKO halfway through Round 1.
Of the 14 fights on the card, 12 ended via stoppages and 10 were decided in the first round.
