Andrew Cristall's power-play goal at 18:11 of the second overtime period ended a long night and a tough series as the Spokane Chiefs eliminated the visiting Victoria Royals from the Western Hockey League playoffs with a 5-4 win on Tuesday night at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.
Shea Van Olm scored three times in regulation and assisted on the winning goal as the Chiefs won the second-round, best-of-seven series in six games.
Saige Weinstein also scored for the Royals, who outshot the visitors 53-40, including 14-4 in the second overtime period. Berkly Catton and Cristall each had three assists.
Markus Loponen, Teydon Trembecky, Kenta Isogai and Brandon Lisowsky scored for the Royals, who were tied 2-2 after the first period and trailed 3-2 heading into the third period.
The Royals went 1-for-6 on the power play, while the Chiefs went 1-for-5.

WINTERHAWKS 4 SILVERTIPS 2

EVERETT, Wash. — Diego Buttazzoni had a goal and assist, netminder Ondrej Stebetak made 40 saves, and the visiting Portland Winterhawks defeated the Everett Silvertips 4-2 in a Game 7 showdown at Angel of the Winds Arena.
Kyle Chyzowski, Hudson Darby and Kyle McDonough also scored for the Winterhawks, who were outshot 42-33, including 14-8 in the third period.
Landon DuPont and Lukas Kaplan scored for the Silvertips, who went 0-for-3 on the power play. The Winterhawks were 1-for-3.
The teams were scoreless after the first period, and tied 1-1 heading into the third.
The Silvertips finished first in the Western Conference this season with 104 points. The Winterhawks were fifth with 76 points.
The Silvertips whipped the Winterhawks 8-4 on Saturday in Portland to tie the best-of-seven series 3-3 and force the winner-take-all contest.
