Bowen Byram and Dylan Cozens will act as co-captains for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championship, but Kirby Dach will remain Team Canada captain despite being ruled out for the tournament.

Dach was ruled out after suffering a wrist injury in Canada’s exhibition game vs. Russia on Dec. 23.

Byram and Cozens will take turns wearing the “C” throughout the tournament, and Connor McMichael will serve as a full-time alternate captain.

Canada begins its tournament on Saturday against Germany. The Canadians then face Slovakia on Sunday, Switzerland on Tuesday, then close out round-robin play vs. Finland on New Year’s Eve.
