Bulldogs shutout Marlies in Nylander’s debut

William Nylander will open the season in the AHL.

HAMILTON — Mike Condon stopped all 30 shots his way as the Hamilton Bulldogs picked up their third win in a row by defeating the visiting Toronto Marlies 3-0 on Friday in American Hockey league play.

After a scoreless 40 minutes, Gabriel Dumont put the Bulldogs (19-17-6) on the board 27 seconds into the third period.

Daniel Carr added a power-play goal minutes later for Hamilton and Dumont added his second goal of the game into an empty net at 18:11.

Antoine Bibeau stopped 29-of-31 shots for the Marlies (17-16-6).

Maple Leafs prospect William Nylander made his AHL debut for Toronto and played the left wing on a line with centre Greg McKegg and right-winger Spencer Abbott.

Hamilton went 1 for 6 on the power play while the Marlies failed to score on two chances with the man advantage.
