Bryzgalov released from tryout with Las Vegas

Las Vegas Wranglers coach and GM, Mike Madill has nothing but good things to say about Ilya Bryzgalov's work ethic and attitude, even though he released him from the club.

Ilya Bryzgalov’s time in Sin City is over.

The longtime NHL goaltender was released from his tryout with the Las Vegas Wranglers on Wednesday, according to the official ECHL website.

Bryzgalov, 33, attended the Wranglers training camp after he was unable to find a contract with an NHL club.

The Philadelphia Flyers bought out the final seven years of his nine-year, $51-million contract in the off-season.

He posted a 19-17-3 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and .900 save percentage last season in 40 games with the Flyers.
