As the Toronto Maple Leafs’ 2014-15 season winds down, it’s likely we’ll see a number of Toronto Marlies players get some playing time in the NHL.

One of those players is defeceman T.J. Brennan, whom the Leafs re-acquired from the Chicago Blackhawks last month.

“There’s a decent chance we’ll give him a look before the year is out,” Leafs assistant general manager Kyle Dubas told Sportsnet 590 The Fan Saturday.

Toronto Maple Leafs prospect report for March

Brennan has been one of the most prolific offensive blueliners in the American Hockey League for several seasons. Last year with the Marlies the 25-year-old defenceman registered 25 goals and 72 points in 76 regular season games. He also added 14 points in 14 post-season contests.

Since 2009, Brennan has amassed 236 points in 358 career AHL games while only suiting up for 40 career NHL games. The last NHL game he played was on April 27, 2013 when he was a member of the Florida Panthers.

Dubas added that he expects players like Brennan – plus current Marlies William Nylander, Connor Brown, Josh Leivo and Brendan Leipsic among others – to have a decent shot at making the Maple Leafs next season.
