Subban, who was drafted 43rd-overall by the Canadiens in 2007, is on the tail end of a three-year contract he signed in 2009 and is scheduled to become a restricted free agent on July 1.
The 23-year-old is one of the more highly touted young defencemen in the National Hockey League and is coming off a 36-point season with the Canadiens.
The Canadiens are currently scheduled to make the third pick in the 2012 NHL Draft on Friday.
