Defending champ Tracy Fleury of Sudbury rolled out to a 13-2 rout over Gale Wiseman of Timmins in the opening draw of the Northern Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts on Wednesday.
Krista McCarville of Thunder Bay also got into the win column in Draw 1 with a 9-2 victory over Laura Payne of North Bay.
Round-robin action continues Thursday in Timmins at 1:30 p.m. ET.

NOVA SCOTIA
Former teammates Colleen Jones and Mary-Anne Arsenault continue to top the standings at the Nova Scotia Scotties Tournament of Hearts as the Halifax skips both improved to 3-0 records.
Jones, a six-time Canadian champion, beat Emily Dwyer 8-6 and Colleen Pinkney 6-3 during Wednesday’s draws. Defending champ Arsenault edged Pinkney 5-4 and Julie McEvoy 11-10.
Arsenault won five Canadian and two world titles while playing second for Jones.
Jill Brothers is also tied for first place at 3-0 defeating Christie Gamble 8-4 and Dwyer 6-5.
Theresa Breen climbed to a 2-1 record scoring a 10-7 victory over McEvoy and a 9-4 win over Gamble.

QUEBEC
Camille Lapierre, Roxane Perron, and defending champ Lauren Mann are all tied atop of the Quebec Scotties Tournament of Hearts round-robin standings with 3-2 records.
Lapierre split her games Wednesday earning an 11-7 win over Helene Pelchat during the afternoon draw and losing 9-7 to Perron in the evening.
Mann fell to Marie-France Larouche 9-7 and bounced back with a 10-3 victory over Pelchat.
Larouche sits in fourth place with a 2-2 record while Pelchat is at 1-4.
Round-robin action continues Thursday in Valleyfield at 9 a.m. ET.
MANITOBA
It’s a wide-open race to kick off the Manitoba Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
With defending champion Jennifer Jones holding an auto-berth to the Canadian championship, several teams are seeking their chance for the Manitoba entry.
Four teams are tied at the top of Asham Black Group standings after Day 1 with 2-0 records including 2014 provincial champion Kristy McDonald, who opened the event with an 11-3 win over Terry Ursel and defeated Christine MacKay 8-4 in Draw 3.
Shannon Birchard also sits in first place beating Mackenzie Zacharias 6-3 and Kim Link 7-5.
Joelle Brown edged Link 5-4 and Zacharias 5-4 while Michelle Montford came out on top 7-6 over MacKay and 8-5 versus Ursel.
Darcy Robertson and five-time Canadian champion Cathy Overton-Clapham lead the Extreme Force Red Group with 2-0 records.
Spencer thumped Janet Harvey 12-3 and Jennifer Rolles 10-4 while Overton-Clapham slid past Rolles 10-4 and Harvey 9-5.
