Chelsea Carey scored three in the extra end to beat Heather Nedohin 6-3 in an all-Edmonton rink match at the Jiffy Lube Alberta Scotties Tournament of Hearts Thursday in Lacombe, Alta.
Carey opened with a single in the first and Nedohin blanked three consecutive ends before counting one in the fifth to tie it. The two rinks exchanged points in six and seven and Carey took another single in the eighth to grab a 3-2 lead.
Nedohin knotted it up again with a point in the 10th to force the extra frame but couldn’t steal the victory. The four-time Alberta champ dropped to the B-side of the triple knockout tournament.
