The Connecticut Whale have forfeited their matchup against the Minnesota Whitecaps and are withdrawing from the NWHL's bubble tournament, the league announced Monday.

As a result of the decision, the league says Monday's game between the Boston Pride and Buffalo Beauts is no longer an elimination game and they are playing for the third and fourth seeds in the Isobel Cup playoffs.

Earlier Monday, the game between the Whale and Whitecaps, slated for 5:30 p.m. ET, was postponed.

Sportsnet's Marisa Ingemi said sources told her the postponement was not COVID-19 related.
