He was acquired by the Bruins from the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 20 after spending the first seven-plus seasons of his NHL career in Minnesota.

The 28th-overall pick in 2010 by the Sharks, Coyle was dealt to the Wild in the trade that sent Brent Burns to San Jose. Coyle racked up 91 goals and 242 points in 479 regular-season contests, chipping in seven goals and 15 points in 44 playoffs games for Minnesota.
