The Vancouver Canucks have signed Ashton Sautner to a two-year, two-way contract extension.
Sautner has two goals and 11 points in 53 games this season with the AHL’s Utica Comets.
“Ashton has developed into a good pro and has shown continual growth over the past three seasons playing in the American league,” said Canucks general manager Jim Benning in a release. “He has provided stability to the defence and played important minutes in Utica.
“We’re excited to have him in our organization providing further depth to our blue line.”
The 23-year-old joined the Canucks as an undrafted free agent on March 14, 2015 after four seasons with the Edmonton Oil Kings of the WHL.
