Gotta See It: Canucks reporter’s inspiring tale

Vancouver captain, Henrik Sedin, takes us back to 2011 when his Canucks knocked out the Sharks to advance to the Stanley Cup final.

Dickson Liong is an inspiration, and the Vancouver Canucks have done us all a courtesy by getting his story out there.

This is the kind of power NHL teams wield with their wide following on YouTube and social media, so it warms the cockles when teams put that reach to good use.

Liong wanted to be the next Alex Ovechkin. He’s also living with cerebral palsy.

“I thought my dream was crushed,” Liong says in this mini documentary. “At the same time I said to myself, ‘I’m not going to quit on my dream of making the NHL.’ “

So he worked his way up from the Western Hockey League and made the naysayers and bullies look like fools.

A nice piece that’s worth five minutes of your day.
