Philadelphia Flyers forward Joel Farabee will have a hearing on Monday for his interference on the Winnipeg Jets‘ Mathieu Perreault during Sunday’s game, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced.
The play in question occurred midway through the second period. After Perreault had moved the puck out of the corner, Farabee came in and delivered a late hit that sent the Jets’ forward to the ice.
Perreault was slow to get up and required assistance from his teammates to get to the bench before ultimately being ruled out for the remainder of the game with an upper-body injury.
Farabee was given a game misconduct penalty on the play. No further updates on Perreault’s status have been made available by the Jets at this time.
The 19-year-old Flyers winger has scored three goals and added eight assists in 26 appearances with Philadelphia this season, while also picking up 15 penalty minutes.
