The Montreal Canadiens have recalled forward Andreas Engqvist from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League, the team announced on Thursday.
The forward earned one assist in six pre-season games with Montreal.
In 71 games with the Bulldogs last season, Engqvist amassed 10 goals and 15 assists.
The Canadiens open their season against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Oct. 6.
