Defenceman Tyler Myers is day-to-day with a lower-body injury and will not play for the Winnipeg Jets in tonight’s game against the Detroit Red Wings, according to head coach Paul Maurice.

Through 43 games so far this season, the 28-year-old has four goals and nine assists while averaging just over 19 minutes of ice time per night.

Sami Niku will slot in on the blue line in his absence. In five appearances with the Jets this season, he has not registered a point, but has seen more box-score production in the AHL, where he has two goals and eight assists in 17 games for the Manitoba Moose.

On the Red Wings’ side of the ice, defenceman Mike Green will return to the lineup. Green hasn’t played in 12 games while dealing with a foot injury, but still leads all Red Wings defencemen in points with 16.
