Lightning re-sign forward Danick Martel to one-year contract

The Tampa Bay Lightning have re-signed forward Danick Martel to a one-year, two-way contract.

Martel, 24, was claimed off waivers by Tampa from the Philadelphia Flyers on Sept. 22, 2018.

He had two assists in nine games with the Bolts last season. Martel also appeared in four games with the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch where he posted one assist.

He has played 13 career NHL games between the Lightning and the Flyers, recording two assists.

In 203 career AHL games with the Crunch and Leigh Valley Phantoms, Martel registered 68 goals and 121 points.

The Drummondville, Que., native went undrafted and was signed by the Flyers as a free agent in 2015.
