Lightning sign Cal Foote to entry-level deal

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed defenceman Cal Foote to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Foote appeared in 60 regular-season games for the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets this season, recording 19 goals and 70 points. Foote also helped Team Canada win gold at the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championships. He finished the tournament with three assists in seven games.

The 19-year-old was selected 14th overall by the Lightning in the 2017 NHL Draft. He is the son of former NHL defenceman Adam Foote.
