A third grader reached out to the NHL officials association and got a great response.
Via reddit user Jowliant, comes the story of a young child who wants to be a referee of all things when he grows up.
The officials association got Tom Chmielewski in touch with the boy, and the two exchanged emails.
Then, Chmielewski sent a care package.

By our count: Four logo stickers, three rubber pucks, two brass whistles, and an official NHL rulebook. (There’s also a hat and an NHL 100 emblem.)
Chmielewski also signed the rulebook, encouraging his newest fan to “work hard and have fun.”
