Oilers’ Connor McDavid suffers bruised knee vs. Predators

Connor McDavid was shaken up after falling awkwardly against the boards, but he wouldn't miss a shift for the rest of the game.

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid suffered a bruised knee to his left knee during Saturday’s victory over the Nashville Predators.

Oilers head coach Dave Tippett told reporters after the game that it the injury was “nothing serious” and that McDavid received ice treatment between periods and after the game. The Oilers captain did not speak to the media after the game.

During the second period, McDavid bumped into Predators defenceman Dante Fabbro and appeared to hit his knee as he went into the boards. The 23-year-old suffered a serious injury to his left knee during the season finale last year which required a lengthy rehab session during the off-season.

In 54 games this season, McDavid has 30 goals and is second in the NHL with 80 points.
