Red Wings sign forward Luke Glendening to 4-year extension

The Detroit Red Wings have signed forward Luke Glendening to a four-year contract extension, the team announced Thursday.

Glendening’s new deal kicks in to start the 2017-18 season and is worth $7.2 million according to generalfanager.com. The 27-year-old will earn $1.8-million annually against the salary cap.

Glendening totalled eight goals and 21 points in 81 games with the Red Wings in 2015-16.

Detroit signed the Grand Rapids, Michigan, native as a free agent in 2013.
