Russian right winger Anton Burdasov will join the Edmonton Oilers on a professional tryout.
The 28-year-old has spent his career in the Kontinental Hockey League and most recently played with Salavat Yulaev Ufa where he had 19 goals and 12 assists in 50 games.
Burdasov appeared in the KHL all-star game last season and was named forward of the week on two occasions.
He also was the league’s most penalized player with 114 penalty minutes, a big spike from his previous career high of 33 in 2013-14.
Early projections have Burdasov, a six-foot-two, 227-pound power forward, potentially landing among the Oilers’ top six forwards.
