Watch: Senators fans celebrate in most hilariously Canadian way

The Rangers and Senators shake hands after Ottawa eliminated New York in six games.

It was bedlam on the streets of Canada’s nation’s capital … but only when the traffic signals permitted.

The Ottawa Senators advanced to the Eastern Conference Final with a Game 6 victory over the New York Rangers Tuesday and Sens fans couldn’t wait to throw their hands up in the air like they just didn’t care.

Brian Platt, a deputy digital editor at the Ottawa Citizen, captured the following video of fans celebrating in the most polite, Canadian, law-abiding way possible.

Notice how the celebration only begins when the light turns green and the crosswalk signal shows that it’s safe to traverse the road, then it immediately dissipates when the green turns to yellow.

The only thing that would’ve made it more Canadian would have been if they all yelled “Car!” like you would during a good ol’ game of road hockey.

Senators supporters will have more opportunities to cheer this post-season when their team faces the winner of Wednesday’s Game 7 between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals.
