The Toronto Blue Jays' tug of war with the Boston Red Sox over Joel Payamps continues.

On Saturday, the club announced it had claimed the right-handed pitcher off waivers from the Red Sox and designated fellow righty Jacob Waguespack for assignment.

The Blue Jays lost Payamps on waivers to the Red Sox at the end of February after claiming him from Boston when he was waived on Feb. 10.

The 26-year-old has four total MLB appearances to his name and owns a career 3.86 ERA over his seven innings of work.

He made eight relief outings for Estrellas in the Dominican Winter League this past off-season, posting a 1.38 ERA.
