The Toronto Blue Jays made four roster moves Monday, including activating outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. from the COVID-related injured list.

Left-handed pitcher Robbie Ray, who's expected to start for the Blue Jays on Monday night against the New York Yankees, was activated from the 10-day injured list.

In a corresponding move, Toronto optioned both infielder Santiago Espinal and right-handed pitcher Joel Payamps to its alternate training site.

Gurriel, 27, was placed on the COVID-related injured list on Saturday due to side effects from a COVID-19 vaccine, and subsequently missed the club's thrashing of the Los Angeles Angels. He's batting .192/.192/.385 in the 2021 MLB season.

Ray, 29, has been out since spring training with an elbow contusion after he slipped down a flight of stairs. He pitched an impressive 1.98 ERA, 18 strikeouts and five walks over 13.2 innings in Grapefruit League action.
