The Toronto Blue Jays are offloading one of their depth outfielders.
The Jays have dealt Steward Berroa to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for cash considerations, the team announced Monday.
Berroa hadn't made an appearance for the Blue Jays this season and was designated for assignment on May 7.
He debuted with the Jays in June 2024 and in 28 games with the club, put up a .189 batting average with a .550 OPS and six stolen bases. He also played as a pinch-runner for the team on occasion.
In 24 games at triple-A Buffalo this season, the 26-year-old had a .195 batting average and .501 OPS with nine stolen bases.
The Dominican native signed with the Blue Jays as an international free agent in 2016 at 17 years old.
Meanwhile, the Jays also announced right-hander Dillon Tate has cleared waivers and accepted his assignment to triple-A.
