Blue Jays' Travis Shaw scratched from Tuesday's game with back spasms

Toronto Blue Jays corner infielder Travis Shaw was a late scratch Tuesday afternoon ahead of the team's game against the New York Yankees. Shaw is dealing with back spasms.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will replace Shaw at first base, sliding over from the designated hitter spot. Jonathan Davis will take Shaw's spot in the batting order and play centre field.

Rafael Dolis will also be unavailable as he continues to deal with a right knee issue. The reliever has been day-to-day and warmed up in the bullpen during Monday night's game against the Yankees.

Shaw has posted a .233/.307/.397 slash line in 46 games with Toronto this season, with five home runs and 14 RBIs. He has played every game for the Blue Jays since Aug. 6.
