Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was named one of the finalists Friday for the Hank Aaron Award, given annually to the best hitter in each league.
The 22-year-old Guerrero had a sensational slash line of .311/.401/.601 and tied for first in the American League with 48 home runs.
The award was created in 1999 on the 25th anniversary of Hank Aaron breaking Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record. The panel consists of Hall of Famers plus with a fan vote.
