George Springer is returning to the Toronto Blue Jays lineup to face the Baltimore Orioles on Monday night at Rogers Centre.
Outfielder Josh Palacios was optioned to triple-A Buffalo to make room for Springer, who will bat leadoff as the team’s designated hitter.

Springer sustained a Grade 1 left knee sprain when he ran into the outfield wall while chasing a ball in Seattle on Aug. 14.
The 31-year-old has 16 home runs and 35 RBI in 49 games this season with a slash line of .269/.362/.610.
Springer, who signed a six-year, $150-million contract to join the Blue Jays this season, had been on a roll prior to the injury and was named the American League’s player of the week on consecutive occasions on Aug. 2 and Aug. 9.
