Shohei Ohtani pitched 4.2 innings allowing two earned runs while recording five strikeouts, and Kazuma Okamoto crushed a three-run homer as part of a five RBI night, as Japan defeated Italy 9-3 to advance to the World Baseball Classic semifinals.
