The Colorado Avalanche have retained some forward depth.
Matthew Stienburg has re-signed on a one-year deal, the team announced on Friday.
Stienburg missed most of the 2024-25 season with an upper-body injury. He skated in eight games for the Avalanche, but failed to record a point while logging 22 penalty minutes.
With the Colorado Eagles of the American Hockey League, the 25-year-old registered one goal and two assists over five regular season contests before playing in three Calder Cup Playoffs games.
Stienburg was selected in the third round of the 2019 draft by Colorado. The right-shot forward has 17 points (six goals, 11 assists) over 63 AHL contests.
