Colorado Avalanche goalie Darcy Kuemper will not dress Wednesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs due to an upper-body injury.

Jonas Johansson will replace Kuemper as the starter against Toronto while University of Toronto goalie Jett Alexander will serve as the emergency back up.

The Avalanche, who play in Montreal Thursday and in Ottawa Saturday, have recalled goalie Justus Annunen from AHL Colorado and he is expected to join the team Wednesday night.

Kuemper has a 9-5-0 record in 15 starts this season with a .903 save percentage.
