Charlie McAvoy is back in the Boston Bruins lineup for Game 5 Tuesday against the Carolina Hurricanes after the star defenceman was cleared to exit COVID-19 protocol, the team confirmed.
McAvoy missed Game 4 Sunday after he tested positive less than an hour before puck drop in Boston.
McAvoy was spotted earlier Tuesday arriving at PNC Arena in Raleigh.
The 24-year-old from Long Beach, New York, posted a career-high 56 points (10 goals and 46 assists) plus a team-leading 24:40 average ice time and plus-31 rating during the regular season.
McAvoy has registered two assists in three playoff games so far.
Boston won both games at home to tie up the series 2-2.
