The Montreal Canadiens will be without a key offensive weapon against the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday as Tyler Toffoli has been scratched with a lower-body injury.
Head coach Dominique Ducharme told reporters pre-game that Toffoli is considered day-to-day for now, adding that the injury occurred late in Friday’s overtime loss to the Canucks.
Artturi Lehkonen, who was a healthy scratch Friday, will take Toffoli’s place in the lineup. Victor Mete will also draw in, replacing Xavier Ouellet.
Toffoli, who signed with the Canadiens after finishing last season with the Canucks, leads the Canadiens with 18 goals this season. That includes eight goals in eight games against Vancouver.
