Connor McDavid had a goal and two assists for the Oilers, while Trent Frederic had a goal and an assist.
Aatu Raty, Braeden Cootes and Jonathan Lekkerimaki scored third-period goals for the Canucks, who trailed 3-0 after two periods.
The Oilers went 1-for-2 on the power play, while the Canucks were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.
Thatcher Demko stopped 20 of 24 shots for the Canucks, while Stuart Skinner stopped 25 of 28 shots for the Oilers.
