Little Caesars Arena in Detroit got a double dose of Duke on Saturday.
It started in the afternoon, when Tampa Bay Lightning forward Dylan Duke scored his first NHL goal in his first career NHL game in front of friends and family, including his brother Tyler, who was scheduled to play on that same ice later in the evening.
And in classic younger sibling fashion, Tyler wasn't going to let his brother have all the spotlight.
Six hours after Dylan's goal, Tyler was playing for the Michigan Wolverines in an NCAA hockey game and potted one in the exact same net that his brother scored on earlier in the day, this time to tie it up against rival Michigan State.
Unfortunately for him, Dylan wasn't around to witness it as his Lightning departed for a matinee game in Montreal on Sunday afternoon, but he's undoubtedly heard about it from his younger brother.
Tyler, an undrafted junior at the University of Michigan, transferred from Ohio State ahead of his sophomore year and played one season (2023-24) with Dylan before the older Duke made the jump to the AHL.
