Just two days after taking a puck off the face, Brayden McNabb was back in the lineup for the Vegas Golden Knights.
McNabb was active and wearing a cage as Vegas took the ice for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Back on his top pairing with Shea Theodore, McNabb was thrown right back into the fire during the Golden Knights' 5-4 double-overtime victory.
McNabb logged 35:47 of ice time in the win, recording two assists, including one on Theodore's game-winner, as Vegas took a 2-1 series lead.
The blue-liner's status was unclear for the contest after head coach John Tortorella had "no update" on McNabb earlier in the day.
After the game, McNabb revealed that he received stitches somewhere in the 20s-30s range. He wouldn't disclose exact specifics of the injury, however.
McNabb took a slapshot from Carolina's Nikolaj Ehlers directly to the face during the opening period of Game 2 and did not return — instead going to a local hospital for evaluation. Vegas would end up losing 4-3 in overtime after blowing a 2-0 lead.
The 35-year-old has played in all but one game this post-season, posting one goal and six assists through his first 17 appearances. He racked up three of those helpers in the Golden Knights' Game 1 victory.
