New York Islanders centre Jean-Gabriel Pageau and defenceman Noah Dobson were not in the lineup Sunday after being added to the COVID-19 protocols list.

The team made the announcement midway through the third period of a game against the New Jersey Devils.

Players who are on the COVID-19 protocols list have not necessarily tested positive for COVID-19. Dobson and Pageau will be isolated away from the Islanders until it is deemed safe enough for them to return.

Pageau has nine goals and 17 points in 28 games this season, his first full campaign with the team. Dobson has three goals and 12 points in 28 games.
