The Toronto Maple Leafs forward Calle Jarnkrok was forced to leave Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers after crashing into the boards.
Head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters after the game that he expects Jarnkrok to miss time. He could not comment to the extent of Jarnkrok's injury until the team returned home to do more tests.
The injury occurred in the second period as Jarnkrok was stretching to deflect the puck into the zone but went into the boards using his arm to brace the impact.
Jarnkrok was visibly shaken up on the play and went to the locker room after returning to the bench.
The 32-year-old missed 13 games earlier this season because of a broken knuckle. In 51 games this season, Jarnkrok has 10 goals and 21 points.
