NHL linesman Ryan Gibbons is in concussion protocol after a pre-game collision in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, Sportsnet's Nick Kypreos reports.

Kypreos says a CT scan was clear after Gibbons was taken off the ice by stretcher prior to the L.A. Kings-Arizona Coyotes pre-season game.

Gibbons collided with Liam O'Brien of the Coyotes after the national anthem and appeared to be hit in the head.

The Vancouver native has been an NHL linesman since 2015.
