The Florida Panthers are hoping to reunite with Radko Gudas.
The Panthers acquired the rights to Gudas from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for the rights to veteran forward A.J. Greer, the teams announced Monday.
Both Gudas and Greer are pending unrestricted free agents, and now their new teams can negotiate with them before free agency opens on July 1.
Gudas, 36, previously played for the Panthers for three seasons from 2020-23. He captained the Ducks for the past two seasons.
His steadying presence on the blue line helped the Ducks to their first playoff berth in eight years this past season. Anaheim defeated the Edmonton Oilers in Round 1 before falling to the Vegas Golden Knights in Round 2.
“Radko Gudas captained our club with heart and soul over the last two seasons while making a great impact in our community,” said Ducks General Manager Pat Verbeek in a statement. "We offer our thanks and wish him great success going forward. We hope to sign A.J. to a contract and look forward to what he can bring to our club."
Gudas had two goals and 11 assists in 56 regular-season games with the Ducks last season.
Greer, 29, played for the Panthers the past two seasons and helped the team hoist the Stanley Cup in 2024-25.
Last season, Greer established career highs in points (32), goals (17) and assists (15) over 78 games with the Panthers.
